Valium vs Klonopin

Although both, Valium and Klonopin help to relax, but Klonopin also controls the seizures. Klonopin is applicable for occasional or short-term application (up to 4 weeks) for anxiety disorders, and to treat seizures. In addition, based on independent researches Klonopin causes less severe withdrawal symptoms compared to other similar drugs. Klonopin can also be prescribed in cases of epilepsy. However, Diazepam (Valium) has medium-low dependence liability, while Klonopin is highly addictive. Klonopin has a shorter half-life (18-50 hours) comparing to Valium (20-100 hours). Most of side effects caused by these medications are similar, except for running nose, loss of appetite, nausea, sleep problems, which are caused by Klonopin. Klonopin comes in standard tablets of 0.5, 1, 2mg and dissolving tablets of 0.5, 1, 2mg, while Valium comes in form of liquid tablets of 2, 5 and 10mg.
